Annette suggested the most perfect place for my husband and I to go to for our honeymoon! Everything was seamless from flights, to transportation, to the resort being everything she said it was. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Melissa Vincent for being our travel agent for our cruise!! Not only was booking easy and she was extremely helpful!But, the day we were supposed to get on the ship we had a huge “emergency” and she went above and beyond!
Story time: ????
We wake up at the hotel in Webster tx (30 min from the ship) early enough to get ready and be there early.
I run to Walmart and grab Starbucks while my crew is waking up and getting ready.
Mikel calls me and tells me he can’t find his wallet( the ONE thing) he was responsible for packing.
I think it may be in the vehicle with me or he is just looking like a man looks for things. Lol IYKYK
Needless to say, can’t find his wallet in the vehicle, suitcases or hotel room. I call Melissa because after unpacking and packing 6 suitcases 3 times and looking everywhere. I can’t find it. She calls carnival and they say Mikel has to have his ID or school ID.
She gets dressed, goes to my house to get his school ID and starts heading all the way to Galveston so we can get on the ship.
Thankfully, the hotel staff found it wrapped in the sheets in the bed and we got on the ship.
But, Melissa was willing to do everything and anything to help us go on our trip!! Thank you so much!!????

Annette, I just wanted to THANK YOU SO MUCH for making our family Alaska trip happen! The stateroom assignments were perfect!!! We had a fantastic time- it was the most relaxing vacation i had (no cooking or cleaning!). The weather was perfect and the kids and Neal/I got to do everything on our lists. In Juneau kids got to sea kayak while Neal and I took the $2 city bus to mendahall glacier and walked the 1.5 miles to visitor center/falls passing beautiful forests. Taking the public bus back was great because Native American mom’s were riding with their kids. In Skagway after our tour up to see the Yukon, Chris and Erin hiked to Dewey lake and reid falls through magical rain forests(it did rain a little in them). On Wednesday we had the most magical time in Glacier Bay(sunny!!) saw beautiful glaciers, otters and eagles, and whales from the ship. In Ketchikan we saw a bear catch and eat 2 salmon (saw up close), totem poles and creek street.I look forward to booking future travel/cruises with you!

I sadly lost my husband a few years ago and haven't traveled much since.Just haven't had the courage to travel without him, and getting all the formalities done for an expensive vacation in a foreign country seemed intimidating to me.

Norwegian’s shore excursion to St, Thomas didn’t go as it should have. Their transport for sightseeing was over an hour late and was supposed to be air-conditioned and wasn’t. Not sure what happened with that but hopefully Norwegian will correct that or not use that particular service again. It had nothing to do with cruise planners, it was a ship booked excursion. We have never used a travel agent till this trip. I can honestly say I don't know why we haven't. It was amazing how easy it can be to travel abroad. Every step of our trip was basically laid right in front of us. If you want a stress free vacation contact Ms. Annette. If you want every detail planned or just getting the bulk of it setup they can do it. You are basically getting a catered trip to your liking. We had so many options for our trip it was customized to our wants and needs with the experienced help of a friendly and knowledgeable person. My Personal Review Aboard The Carnival Vista!Me and my family went on the Carnival Vista in May 2022. About a month before embarkation day the masks protocol was lifted on all Carnival ships.
We stayed in a Family Harbor Balcony cabin. This category of staterooms gave us exclusive access to the Family Harbor Lounge which had board games, videogames, and a miniature version buffet of the Lido Marketplace.
The atrium was different from other class ships. The atrium was 3 decks high and had a circular LED display in the center displaying motion pictures. There was a bar that was wrapped around the LED display. The atrium didn’t have the glass elevators looking into the atrium but instead were facing the opposite direction.
The Horizon restaurant and the Reflection restaurant are both located on deck 3. Our family stayed at the Horizons restraint in the back of the ship. It was very nice, and the staff sat us with the same family every night. A guy sang songs over the loudspeaker every night and asked everyone to sing along. The Horizons restaurant is the largest with it being two decks tall.
Camp Ocean is action packed with tons of activities for every girl and boy. There is a wide variety of kid friendly video games and group varieties. Sometimes there will be a game night, free play, movie night, or even a magic show.
The Lido Marketplace was great. The food was excellent and there were plenty of seats. The pizzeria had a wide variety of pizzas to choose from and they were all well prepared. The seafood shack was also good but does come as an extra expense. Guy’s Burger Joint was very good but the line was very long and crowded the pool deck.
One of the biggest problems for me was the size of the pool deck. The pool deck was very small compared to other ships such as the Dream or the Freedom. It was difficult to find a chair near the pool, so We went up a deck higher instead and found a chair. The pool deck was also very crowded because of the lines from the bar and fast-food lines.
The SkyRide was very fun and the same with the sports square. The Miniature Put-Put was very fun and not a lot of people played it, so it was very spacious. The water slides on this ship were very fast and fun but it took 10 to 15 minutes every time you wanted to slide.
In my opinion, if you want a fun packed family vacation then definitely consider this ship. If you want a spacious relaxed vacation then you should consider an older, smaller ship.

Thank you so much for booking this amazing trip for us! Quick thoughts on the Vista just in case you magically haven’t been on that boat. All my cruise friends warned me about the layout. We honestly had no issues with the layout. Thought it was fine. Loved the location of our room! Easy gym access for my crazy 5:30am workouts ?? The highlight of the boat was the brewery tour! Best part of the days at sea and highly recommended! Austen was amazing giving the tour. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys drinking beers, and very interesting even for non beer drinkers. Also the surprise milkshakes at Candy on Top were amazing! Piano bar was amazing as always but the piano bar was kind of hidden and tucked away. Even though it was a larger boat, it didn’t feel crowded because of the layout I felt like. However the atrium area was much smaller than we expected. Same with the lounge they do all the shows in, it felt much smaller than other boats. The Intercontinental Resort and Spa in Tahiti is very well maintained. (Con—noisy power tools). I’m almost inclined to say immaculate. Grounds are expansive and are landscaped with lots of tropical foliage and flowers.The staff is by far the most attentive and courteous I’ve ever experienced in a resort. Most speak at least some English and would go get someone else to assist if there is a difficulty.
The check in and departure process is very well organized. They tag your bags and take care of them for you while you wait. They drive you and your luggage to your bungalow in a cute little van. They will exchange money for you at desk.
The grounds has a unique mix of ocean swimming and pool. The ocean area is enclosed and they call It the Lagoonarium. You can swim/snorkel with all sorts of beautiful tropical fish. The pool is large and pretty with a waterfall and zero entry. There are plenty of chaise lounges/umbrellas/pergolas around the whole water area.
Our bungalow was AMAZING. A large living area with a beautiful linen pull out couch. A small refrigerator and pod espresso machine. 2 large sliding glass doors that open onto the private deck. All of the windows had wood type shutters you can open by sections to let in the wonderful ocean breeze and be able to hear the waves. The large bathroom had a huge glass walk in shower, double sinks and a beautiful soaking tub. The tub sits next to a window with a screen you can open to allow you a breathtaking view of the ocean and moon/stars while you relax in the tub!
The king sized bed (which could’ve been more comfortable) faces a large picture window that allows you to wake up and fall to sleep looking out over the ocean. On each side of the window is a narrow sliding door allowing the ocean breeze into the room. Black out curtains in case you want more privacy.
The private deck has a table and chairs and 2 chaise lounges with cushions. And a private ladder to allow you to swim directly off of your deck.
A large closet and separate toilet round out the beautiful over the water bungalow. Worth. Every. Penny.
I opted for a spa day in the Deep Nature Spa. Had a body scrub, massage and facial. It was a wonderful experience! They allow you to use a steam sauna, a cold plunge pool and a rainfall shower as part of your spa package.
Our biggest disappointment was the food. While we knew It would be native dishes and food styles, It was a little too native. Lots of raw fish and meats which are not a Western thing.
We knew food would be expensive but you can plan on a minimum of $100 USD/meal for 2 ppl. The only options for breakfast are a few expensive a la cart items which are mostly cold or a $49 buffet. Now don’t get me wrong, the first few days we were overwhelmed with the selection. But by the last day, It had gotten a little old. (It’s even called The American. Yes. Our reputation precedes us)
They have a big buffet on Wednesday and Friday nights with a native Tahitian dance show. The shows were quite entertaining. But on Wednesday night It was all raw or marinated raw fish and meats (even the salads and side dishes) Even the rib steak they carved was raw. There was roast chicken and piglet which were good. The buffet was $89/person. Which did not include drinks. Alcoholic drinks are a minimum of $19/each. Maybe a all inclusive package would’ve been better?
We skipped the buffet (it was $95/person) Friday night and had a cheeseburger and fries ($30) at the bar, but we’re still able to watch the show. Then we realized It had much more variety and a crepe bar :(.
They also have a brunch buffet on Sunday mornings with more native music. The fresh fruit and juices were amazing and i will miss my daily dose. Lol the ice cream and sorbets are also very good!
We did venture out a few times for some amazing meals in town, but then you’re adding $40 round trip taxi fare to your meal and those restaurants weren’t much cheaper.
Beware. Sunday isn’t the day to do that. Very few open restaurants on Sundays.
Now before you think I’m a cheapskate. I am not. I knew It was expensive. I had done the research. I just expected a little more variety. There is a large main open air restaurant La Tiare, the Tiki bar, the Lobby Bar and their fine dining restaurant over the water called Le Lotus. Reservations recommended. Not a big selection. Very pricey and small portions. You can’t order a la cart. You have to order a “combo”. A starter and a meal. A meal and a desert etc. i actually didn’t feel well that night so It was my least favorite meal of the trip.
The menus between the restaurants/bars (excluding Le Lotus) vary very little. So even if you go to the different bar, the food selection is pretty much the same with a few exceptions.
We are foodies, and are willing to try other cuisines, It was just a bit boring at times. I expected lots of seafood on the menu, but mostly just fish.
I kind of felt the same when i did a 7 day cruise. Just gets repetitive.
There is a small boutique on property and they had some vendors selling jewelry and local textiles which was nice
We went with the intention of relaxing and not doing a bunch of activities, so this is just a observation.
Most of the activities (whale/dolphin excursions, sunset boat rides, dinner cruises) originate in Moorea. Which is a minimum 30” ferry ride. The only activities in Papeete were jet ski and round boat rentals.
We found out about the ferry ride from another couple so we decided to check that out. Tickets are $17/person each way. We took a taxi to the port and caught the ferry at 900am. You just buy the tickets at the gate. We took a taxi from the port to a car rental place and rented a small car to drive around the island. (About $65 USD) Our taxi driver was so knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us out with all of that. We spent part of the day on the beach. And ate lunch and dinner. We finally got some seafood! Lobster both meals! Took the 400 pm ferry back and got a taxi back to the resort.
The ferry is very large, clean, air conditioned and serves sandwiches, snacks, beer and drinks.
On our last day, check out is at 11. Our flight was at 9 pm. They will store your luggage and allow you to continue to use all of the grounds until your flight. They even offer a room for you to shower or change clothes if needed. They call It a transit room and you’re allowed 30” in there. When we tried, they were all full, and we only had about 30” before our transport to airport. The front desk gave me a key to a full room and allowed me to shower and change!
All in all we had an amazing relaxing trip! We did not want to leave!

Aubrey and I took a REAL vacation last week. We spent time in a cabin on the side of Black Mountain in North Carolina. We left on April 29th and drove through six states to get to our destination. We came home May 7th.1. We stopped midway at a small town called Ollie, MI and ate at a diner called AJ’s! The owner told us that the cook was approached years ago by a magazine in New York who wanted to buy a recipe from her, but she said it was a family recipe and refused. A southern dish known as tomato gravy which you eat over biscuits! Yes!!! I tried it and it was very delicious!
2. We stopped in and visited the Tuskegee Airmen Museum in Tuskegee, Alabama. What a historical site! Pictures just don’t say enough!
3. We celebrated our 25th anniversary while touring the Biltmore Estate in Ashville. If you have never been there, it is an amazing piece of history that has so many things to see - for example - there were two actual Monet paintings, 3 of the 7 Tapestries of Virtue - One of which - The Faith Tapestry no longer exist anywhere else in the world. The Gardens were beautiful and I saw plants that I have never seen before and probably never will.
4. We drove to random places and met locals to learn about why the bat caves are no longer open for the public, favorite places to hang out, where to eat. We went into Asheville and walked downtown - ate at a Hawaiian style restaurant while being waited on by Robert who was the bomb! Played dominoes after eating!
5. Got to play in a creek by the cabin looking for beautiful rocks! Found some quartz and pyrite!
6. Walked the Flowering Bridge at Lake Lure! When a new bridge was built for the highway64, they repurposed the old bridge for people to walk through a garden. Each section of the garden had a theme - there was even a “Secret Garden”!
7. Visited Lake Lure and found out there was a city buried about 50 feet below the waters that was from the gold rush era (1800’s) OH AND I almost forgot - we saw Chimney Rock and waterfalls!
8. On our way home, we stopped in Catahoula Parish and paid tribute our men and women in arms who didn’t make it home from WWI,WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict.
I could go on and on, but I will tell you that this trip was all planned by Annette Duplechin - Cruise Planners - Greatwhitetravels.com. She planned everything, gave us all we needed in a folder which we actually took with us everywhere and added menus, business cards of local shops, etc in the folder.
I can’t thank Annette enough for making our vacation a memorable one for us! We did nothing except pack. AND SHE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH US ON OUR JOURNEY. She said it was in case we needed anything. How great is that? Thank you for helping us make lasting memories and thank you for taking care of us.
