NCL Prima Birthday Week Sailing - January 12-19, 2024/Part 2

After a day and night of mildly choppy seas and cloudy skies, we arrived in Costa Maya, Mexico. It was a beautiful and sunny day to enjoy & explore the quaint port of Costa Maya.

Having been to Costa Maya several times, I opted for a ship day which included a little work, lounging in one of deck 8's infinity pools, and wrapping up the day with a wonderful hibachi dinner @ Hasuki.

For those that enjoy sea days or maybe staying on board at certain ports, the Prima offers many activities from morning until late evening. Bingo, game shows, scavenger hunts, fitness classes, dancing lessons, and wine tastings are just some of the many activities available every day.

The spa is also available for pampering and relaxation and is a great option on a sea day. Along with the many onboard activities available to enjoy, there are a multitude of public spaces made for lounging, relaxing, visiting with friends, or just enjoying the views of the beautiful expanse of ocean.

On this cruise, particular favorite spots have been the aft section on Deck 8 near the Soleil Bar, the Observation Lounge on Deck 17, and the area right behind Starbucks facing the sea. The Observation Lounge also has
books and a game cabinet with a variety of games to borrow and enjoy for quiet reading or playing with family and friends. 

Our final sea day was overcast and getting chilly as we headed through the Gulf of Mexico and closer to land. Passengers all over the ship enjoyed the heated pool, hot tubs, or indoor spaces to relax before getting back to the reality of winter all over the US. 

This trip had been planned for a year and was a terrific way to spend a birthday. Next January, it will be on the NCL Viva- sister ship to the Prima-from San Juan, Puerto Rico sailing the ABC islands and St. Thomas. If you're ready to escape the January cold, join me!
